भारत की आबादी लगातार बढ़ रही हैं,इस आबादी की स्वास्थ्य ज़रूरतें भी लगातार बढ़ रही हैं,जिन्हें पुरा करनें के लिये देश में चिकित्सा महाविधालय (medical college) की भी स्थापना सार्वजनिक और निजी क्षेत्रों में की गई हैं.
देश में एम.बी.बी.एस.की पढ़ाई के लिये साढ़े पाँच साल अवधि का कोर्स संचालित किया जाता हैं,जिसमें एक वर्ष की अनिवार्य इंटर्नशीप सम्मिलित हैं.
आईयें जानतें हैं,देश के प्रमुख चिकित्सा संस्थानों के बारें में जहाँ M.B.B.S. की पढ़ाई करवाई जाती हैं.

#1. All india Institute of medical science [Aiims] :::
मेड़िकल की पढ़ाई के लियें यह सर्वाधिक प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान माना जाता हैं.जहाँ से निकले डाँक्टर देश और विदेशों में काफी प्रतिष्ठा कमा रहें हैं.
एम्स में एड़मिशन के लिये प्रतिवर्ष अखिल भारतीय स्तर की प्रवेश परीक्षा आयोजित की जाती हैं,जो आनलाईन पद्धति पर आधारित होती हैं.देश में कुल 7 एम्स हैं,जो कि दिल्ली,भोपाल,पटना,भुवनेश्वर,जोधपुर,रायपुर और रिषीकेश में स्थित हैं.
इनमें से प्रत्येक एम्स में एम.बी.बी.एस.की 100 सीट़े हैं.इस तरह कुल 700 सीटों पर प्रवेश दिया जाता हैं.जिनमें आरक्षण नियमों का पालन किया जाता हैं.
अगले कुछ वर्षों में देश के विभिन्न भागों में 15 एम्स प्रस्तावित हैं,जिससे सीटों की संख्या बढ़ना निश्चित हैं.
एम्स में प्रवेश हेतू आयोजित होनें वाली दो घंटो की परीक्षा में 200 अंकों के बारहवी के स्तर के कुल 200 प्रश्न पूछें जातें हैं,जिनमें 60 प्रश्न भौतिकी से,60 प्रश्न रसायन से,60 प्रश्न बायँलाजी से,तथा 10 - 10 प्रश्न सामान्य अध्ययन और अभिरूचि क्षमता से संबधित होतें हैं.
परीक्षा माध्यम हिंदी और अंग्रेजी हैं.
गलत उत्तर देनें पर एक अंक काट लिया जाता हैं,तथा सही जवाब देनें पर एक अंक प्रदान किया जाता हैं.उत्तर नहीं देनें पर '0' अंक दिया जाता हैं.

# 2.जवाहरलाल नेहरू इंस्टीट्यूट आँफ पोस्टग्रेजुएट मेड़िकल एजुकेशन एण्ड़ रिसर्च [JIPMER] :::
JIPMER भी मेड़िकल शिक्षा का उच्च स्तरीय संस्थान हैं,जो पुड़चेरी में स्थित हैं.इस संस्थान के दो केम्पस हैं,जो पुडुचेरी और कराईकल में हैं.इनकी सम्मिलित सीटों की संख्या 200 हैं .जिनमें 150 पुडुचेरी और 50 कराईकल में हैं.

# 3.NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [NEET] :::
यह अखिल भारतीय स्तर की परीक्षा हैं,जिसके माध्यम से देश के सभी राज्यों एंव केन्द्र शासित प्रदेशों में स्थित निजी एंव सार्वजिक क्षेत्रों के मेड़िकल डेंटल सहित आयुर्वैद, होम्योपेथ,यूनानी और योगा कालेजों में प्रवेश दिया जाता हैं.
इस परीक्षा में कुल 720 अंको के कुल 180 प्रश्न पूछें जातें हैं, प्रत्येक सही उत्तर के लिये चार अंक दिये जातें हैं, जबकि गलत उत्तर पर एक अंक काट़ लिया जाता हैं.प्रश्न हल नही करनें पर शून्य अंक दिया जाता हैं.
परीक्षा आफलाईन तरीके से आयोजित की जाती हैं,जिसमें 45 - 45 प्रश्न रसायन और भौतिकी के पूछें जातें हैं,जबकि 90 प्रश्न बाँयलाजी विषय से संबधित होतें हैं.
यह परीक्षा अंग्रेजी, हिंदी समेत आठवी अनूसूची में सम्मिलित कुछ प्रादेशिक भाषाओं में आयोजित होती हैं.
